Cc306/xe227/xe230

Did a few searches and didn't find much info on the two XE's so figured I'd ask for a comparison of the three cam's

I'm looking for a 11sec N/A daily driven sleeper... LT4 Heads ported, JH LT's, 3.73s, stall, Musser CAI, and a few other misc mods will also be going in. I don't mind lope, I actually like it as long as it's nothing hardcore. I also love Torque over HP... I'm looking to pull 1.3-1.5 60's with enough time behind the wheel.

Musser will be doing all the work on the car but he recommened one of the three so figured I'd get some opinions off here

It really depends on your setup, if your planning on showing good numbers i'd go with the 306 or any of the magnum cams, street machines i'd go with the XE grind. If this thread get's more popular i'll post my dyno numbers and show you exactly what I mean.

All in all I voted 230/236.

I love my 306, the sounds it makes are incredible through the duals...Go with the 306, it is perfectly streetable, but it doesn't really like the stock TC in A4 cars...At least mine, anyway. Come out to a GTG and you can hear it...

Just tell Jordan to build you a fast car. He obviously knows how over and over. Theres no doubt that you will go fast with any of the cams and him doing the work. But do you mean XE224? I haven't been keeping up in the last several months, so maybe they have a new cam out or something.

There's no way it's gonna be a sleeper with any of those cams! Or 11sec either!

WTF are you smoking? heads/cam will put it over 400hp/tq and no doubt into the 11s with DRs or slicks and a good driver (working on that one)

But don't believe me, wait till spring comes back around and I'll prove it

Doesn't matter!

The best I've seen with the XE230/236 was about 11.95 sec.

Is that considered an 11 sec car?

And it ain't no sleeer

with those 60' times and those cam options and definately with those heads!! 11 sec 1/4 times are certainly possible.

Not a sleeper b/c of the lope? I haven't heard either of the XE's but I'll be rolling on stock rims, at sotck height, with Eagle F1s on front and Nitto Triple 5s on back. The interior and exterior will look stock is what I meant by sleeper. If it has a little bit of lope I'll say it's an exhaust leak lol (mikev6/beenfetched)

As far as the 1/4mi, I'll fax you a copy of my time slip...

I like the XE 230/236 because of the streetability and mid range power. Its not a peaky cam. It makes power everywhere.

Yeah, the lope's pretty noticeable. This is mine through headers, cats, and muffler.

The most I've seen this cam do (in a 350) was 406rwhp / 375rwtq. (true duals, elec. wp)

And 11.95 sec with skinnies and slicks.

But you got LT4 heads, which they didn't have.

I haven't had any time to work on my car lately, but I'll have it at the dyno and the track this winter.
