cc306 valve tune.

Ok I'm tuning my valves on my LT1 w/ cc306. Here's the scoup. I use the "rotate the crank 45 degree" method to bring two cylinders TDC at a time. Is this cam a little different though? I seem to end up with one of the valves slightly open every time. What is the BEST method for tuning this cam. And please only experience people whom have tuned this cam.

Thanks much for your help!!

By tuning this cam i'm assuming you mean setting the valve lash. If so i suggest you just turn the motor over a few times and each time check all the rockers and kind of just snug them down and lock them. Turn it over again and check them again as some always seem to loosen up. Then once you've turned the motor over a few times and none come loose then fire it up and adjust them while its running.

Re: cc306 valve tune.

Do one cylinder at a time.Watch one valve open(spring compress) and adjust the other valve for that cylinder.Zero lash+1/4-1/2 turn.Repeat for the valve you watched compress.Repeat til all are done...It is a lot of turning of the crank, but they are done right.Hope you understand it,it isnt that difficult.

Ya adjust them like said above and then do the running method...gets them much closer imo.

I have the comp poly locks so I screwed them down by hand till they stopped......started the car and then adjusted them. Worked like a charm.

I'm using poly locks also. Doesn't it make a horrible mess doing it with the car running?

unbelievably...........I didn't get a drop out on the headers or anywhere else. If you don't rev the engine it won't get outta the heads.

BTW, with poly locks it's right at 0 lash when you spin them down by hand and they stop. I got that off shoebox's site.
