CC306 + Stock Rockers -> Aftermath

Well I hoped it would work. And it did work. For about 2k miles, 1 month, and about 50 pulls to 6500.

Setup
cc306
new oem lifters
612 sprints
stock rockers
oem timing set

Went on a road trip to a wedding this past weekend. ABout 8 hours round trip. Drove great, even got on it well a few times. Drove to work yesterday, then today. Today had a really bad clacking sound. So I figured I would readjust the valves. I knew they would get bad. Well one of the rockers on the #5 was really loose. Too loose. And the tip that goes over the valve was all but gone. Just enough to press down on the retainer which is why it ran today.

Driving the beater tomorrow and looking for cheap roller rockers to make it to Scandalous Racing this weekend.

Thats my experiece with it. Have a box full of stock ones and another will go on it until I get some rr's in, but oh well.

If you can afford them, get them to start with, if you can't, maybe you should wait.

I have been running on stock rockers for almost a year now with no problems. I rev to 6500 when I'm at the track. I will be replacing my springs soon though and at that time I will be doing Comp Pro Mag 1.6 RR's.

Mine could have been misadjusted, stressed, or anything.

I may be running stocks again for a while longer. Just giving my experience.

Do any of your other rockers look worn or stressed?

You may of had that one out of wack a little.
