CC306 runs even better than expected!
I posted last week about this setup I put together thinking it would run decent and it runs better than I ever expected. Last week I posted the car ran 11.42@118.6mph in decent weather. Since then I put a set of front QA1 struts and springs. The weather got cool out here Wednesday morning so I headed out to the track with my new font struts on about 5minutes before I loaded up to go. Heres how the runs went.
1st pass full weight
1.599 60'
7.26@95.5mph 1/8th
11.37@119.9mph!
Then I yanked the N2o bottle and my leather passenger seat.
1.588 60'
7.20@96mph 1/8th
11.28@120.6mph!!
About 10:00PM and -300' DA
1.582 60'
7.19@96.6mph
11.24@120.8mph! This with a 3800 converter, 3.42's in the stock 10 bolt and a 3450lb raceweight. The engine is 355" with an old CC306 and a tune from the internet. I am really excited with this setup and need to dial in the suspension to get it going better. The car needs a rollbar b/c I am no longer welcome at most of the local tracks for running under 11.50 w/o a bar or fire jacket. So the car is going to get a 6 point moly bar with swing outs next week. Stay tuned to see if I can squeeze a 10.90@122+mph out of this little pumpgas 355" LT1 N/A and 9.90's on the spray!

Thanks guys. Just a nice set of heads, CC306 and the tune from Brent's site must be dead on b/c the car is running. It runs quicker every pass down the strip too. later Clint

No, I never broke the rear (Knocks on wood) and haven't run with the 4l60 in a long time. I have also cut a 1.49 60' a couple weeks ago trying ther n2o out of the hole and it's till living. later clint

Re: CC306 runs even better than expected!
That is awsome news to hear. The cc306 is a proven cam, and is worth the money. And your times are proof of it. Of course your ported heads have alot to do with it as well. But I'm sure I wont regret popping that cam in my car come spring time Good luck with your goals. You obviously know what your doing. Keep up the good work.
