CC306 parts list

I know this has come up before, but I can't seem to find any comprehsive list.
So, what all will I need to put a CC306 in. I want to replace all of the "borderline" items too, as I've got a good deal of miles on the engine, too. I'm trying to get a complete list of everything that will come up so when I get started, I can just work all the way through without having to wait for more parts to arrive. Also, if you know a cheap place to get them, let me know. Thanks!

lifters, springs (a must), pushrods, rocker arms, studs (might as well go with 7/16)...thats all that comes to mind now.

Re: CC306 parts list

Alot of people are running the combination motorsport springs. If you have the money I would suggest comp R lifters, comp pro mag 1.6 RR SA 7/16(stock stud), LT4 xtreme timing chain, 7.200" chromeoly pushrods.

But if money is an issue you can reuse your stock timing chain, lifters, pushrods. Some people even reused the stock rocker arms but I wouldnt try IMO

Anymore questions feel free to pm me I have installed cams on plenty of LT1's

Re: CC306 parts list

IMO do an electric water pump(around $150 for a csi) and cloyes true double roller timing chain set(79.00 @ combination motorsports) free's up some hp and combined is cheaper than the lt4 xtreme duty timing chain.

i agree with 396D1SS on the rest except you don't necessarily need new pushrods with SA rockers, only NSA's.

Re: CC306 parts list

first off why wouldnt you "try" to re-use the stock rocker arms???

make sure you have the right tools for the right job! what type of valve springs are you going to use??

Well, for $30 for hardened pushrods, I think it's well worth it for that extra degree of safety.

Re: CC306 parts list

you dont need to buy new harden pushrods since you have a 96 which already came with them.
