The cam will still gain over stock but not as much as the other cams, because the CC306 was made to make the most power at the higher RPM's

and i dont think you would need to "rev it high" for driving in traffic, you can putt around just like normal but you'll notice the car will feel a little more sluggish in the lower rpm range say 2000rpm's and lower prolly
but when you go WOT it'll all seem worth it, cuz that cam pulls very nicely
I cant afford heads this year, but next year will have some nice ones. And I have an M6 SS so it has 3.42 already and I dont want ot go any higher.

But this cam and the headers will not make less power anywhere in the powerband then stock? even low RPM? it wont be worse then stock?

cc306 is a good cam... u'll be making enough power at around 6000, but u can take it upto 6600 and make more power...

cc305 will be a good cam, and it'll cutout after about 6200

My car with the CC306 and basically stock heads made peak HP at 6200 RPM, and peak Torque at like 3800 RPM....This car loves to Rev, with good heads I see it spinning all the way to at least 6500-6700 RPM, I think it is designed for 1800-6500 or something like that....

You will love the "Old School" Lope it has though....

strange what you guys are saying about the peaks. The highest peak ive seen on a 306 was at ~5900 before the drop.

As for 3.42 being as high as you want to go...you are missing out. with an m6, running 4.10 you can gain huge tq off the line. the car will feel amazing down low. you do limit the top speed to ~130 but who really goes that fast?

If you plan on really fast strip times i would look into 3.73 as it will not really hurt your top speed too much. 3.42 suck , all you have to do is drive a different gear to understand...

More gearing is only helping if you can plant it. If your first gear is useless and you go right into second, you might as well have had the lower gear to begin with.

i have 4.10's and i'm shifting into 2nd shortly after the 1st 60ft at the track and my car seems easier to launch (to me anyway) then the 3.42's did!
the pull the car has after the gear swap is absolutely amazing and i wanted to kick myself for not doing them as my first mod
it pulls like a raped ape with stock heads and cam
i can only imagine what they would feel like with the 306
see if you can find someone in your area with gears and an M6 and go for a ride or see if you can drive it, i think you'll like'em

Xride....you will not make less power anywhere in the powerband with the 306 over the stocker, what i meant was you will not experience the power potential or pull of the cam until upwards of 3000rpm or so, but you will still feel the cams difference low in the band compared to stock
but you'll never know personally until you actually get in there and install it

thank you,
Is there any dyno graphs out there with CC306 and stock heads?
I remember a site awhile back with a bunch of dyno tests on a car with different products, does someone know that one too?

I dont have the money for gears, well without going into my back up money, cause stuff like this always costs more hten it starts out as.
I figure that I'll need a new rear end when i get my heads anyways, so I'll jsut do it then, and well hope that nitto's dont have enough traction to break it sooner, otherwise CC might have a big friend on it for a while.

stock heads/TB/water pump etc.

Notice how it peaks at 5900 and just sits there all the way to 6800

do not run nittos with 10 bolts man. ive been to the track with friends a couple of times and seen a few break. dont bother until you have the money to do a 12 bolt.

Its sad when stock + drag radial = break!
