cc306 with heads or LE2 heads and cam?

okay well.. last summer was spent rebuilding the looks of the car... this summer its the engine.

so what do you guys think.. im torn at moment wether to go with a cc306 and get the heads done to match, or go with an LE2 package.

either way i plan on going to 4.10's in the rear.

Figure if im going to spend time and money on this may as well not regret it so what do you think would be the best choice. Car is daily driver, but streetability really doesnt concern me.

I'd go with the heads and custom cam route.

I have the set in question and love it, In speaking with Lloyd about this set up, he told me it was the best bang for the buck. 306/ LE2.5 heads The car pulls HARD!

Are the times in your sig. with your CC306/LE3 setup? I have the CC306 in the car with mild heads and will be sending them over to get the LE3 port work done here soon. Just wondering what if those #'s are current.

I think that says it all. I know i would want the cam that produces more TQ and power down low but peaks more too. It will make for a way faster car.

those time are correct, but I have some tuning issues that need ironed out, also I'm running the stock stall right now. Lloyd said with good tuning and a 3000 stall I could see low 12's N/A and high 10's or low 11's with the juice.

ya thats what i was thinking... cc306 is a pretty high reving cam... however i could save about 500 going other route and put that towards some suspension and tuning.

but u pay to play i guess

Ok, that explains it. I have trapped 107-110mph with the CC306 and mild heads on heavy 18" wheels w/ street tires. You will like it alot better when it's running good.

Yeah, the cc306 starts only past 4000+, but is VERY strong all the way up to 7000 with plenty to spare. It does surge at low RPMs tho, but with a good tune a little bump on the spark, you should be ok. I have no regrets.
