CC306 guys inside and other cam guys

what gain did you guys get with the 306? Are you running stock heads or aftermarket? How mean of a cam is it? I drive my car daily but i live 3 miles from my job....small city driving. Is it a good DD cam? Any info would be great
Also what times in the 1/8th ~ 1/4th have you gotten with the cam?

Re: CC306 guys inside and other cam guys

if i remember correctly i got 388 and 356 with it and some slightly ported heads.
the heads only flowed about 250 on the intake side
its not really worth it with stock heads, you could get something smaller that drives better and still make the same hp.

driving is more up to you, and the tune. the only thing that bothered me driving it was the smell(no cats)

i ran an 11.8 with it.

CC306 works awsome with stock heads, back in the day my car went 12.7 @ 115 mph with it on street tires.

12.8 @ 109 1.9 60' street tires was my best. Spun 2 rod bearings on the next pass

I only saw 335/360 but I think something wasn't working right that day, should have had a bit more HP. I love the cam but its not working out with my new motor so I am going a little bigger. Ill have a used one for sell here in about a week. Was inspected/polished by my machine shope @ 400 miles ago.

Every car is different. That was feathering the clutch to get a sub 2.0 on street tires and the damn thing was still wanting to spin after that. Oh and my beast with me in it is @ 3700#

Re: CC306 guys inside and other cam guys

would the cam do better on aftermarket heads or would ported and polished heads do the trick? Does it work well with n2o or do i need an nitrous cam?

Re: CC306 guys inside and other cam guys

It likes nitrous, its not a nitrous specific cam but unless you are going massive it won't be a problem. I planned on spraying 200 on mine and plenty of people have before.

The better the heads the more power the car will make. Thats a given. I ran it with stock heads and now I have stock castings with a pretty good port job. Don't have any dyno numbers but it likes the ported heads.

w/ the 306 and stock heads I ran times in sig. I drove it for 10,000 miles or so w/ the 306 and it wasn't bad at all. Very streetable in my opinion.

Its fine for daily driver. I sit in stop-n-go for 55 miles a day in mine, you'll have to get used to some cam surge though, or get some gears.
