No, because if you want to make the best use of your power your going to be shifting around 6800 rpms and the stock bottom end might not like that too much

However, you're going to run into that same problem with a lot of the cams that are well matched to max power with ported heads.

I know you have ported heads which will only help carry your power higher in the rpm range

It is a good cam, you could just go with it and shift earlier than optimum to save your bottom end. There are some guys like marcin and atljar who say they routinely rev into the high 6ks. There are other people who have blow out there bottom ends at 6200, its a crapshoot. With ported heads you'll still be making more power than most anything you race.

With a smaller cam you will sacrifice a few peak HP because it won't rev as high, but you will make more tq/HP at the rpms that you are willing to use. Get some flow numbers for you heads and then call Bret at Bauer racing who is a comp cams dealer and tell him what rpm you want to work in and he will select you a custom cam. Or combination motorsports will also make a good selection for you if you tell them what you want. They will recommend a XE 224/230 or something along those lines which won't rev as high.
