CC306 cam and MPG

Just did a 300 mile trip. Car is 95 Z-28 12 bolt rear with 3.73, CC306 cam, CNC heads, and all supporting mods did 19.22 mpg. Just cruised at 85 mph. Not to bad.

Not bad at all. With the m6 I got 25 still on all hiway miles when I had the 306.

Heads, bigger cam, heavier foot and its awful now.

I hate you all....trip to school and back (50mi total, all highway at 70mph 6th gear.) costs me 10 bux. not cool. which is why my car is sitting until it gets tuned.

On solid highway miles, I get 17 mpg. A mixture of city/highway is always 12 mpg.

is this caused by the cam? or the gears? i'm looking into getting a cam, and right now i get about 15-16 town/highway mix. would mine drop down to 12-13 with a cam?

I routinely get 220-240 miles per tank (although don't drive it much anymore) with a 306 cam, ported heads, full exhaust etc. Wonder if there could be more gotten outta this setup with a dynotune.
