Question cc305 or cc306?

Well, my opti seems to be taking a crap so I figure I'll toss a cam in while it's apart till I do the 383.

The car is just a weekend driver. I know the cc305 is fairly tame and streetable, but I would like a bit more if I could get it. So how will the cc306 be for driving on the street? I will send my PCM to pcmforless.com after the cam is in, of course.

The car has full exhaust, including headers, cai, cut-out and a couple other minor things.

I just want a bit more power while I save to do the 383. So I figured I would toss in a cam.

Looks like your car is an auto..? I would NOT put a cc306 in an auto, unless you have a bigger stall (2500+) in the car. The cc305 should work well with the factory stall.

Yea, my car is an A4. Why won't the cc306 go well with an auto? I plan on a 3500 stall, but not until 383 time and then the cc306 would be swapped out for a bigger cam.

I have the cc305 ...I like it good road manners and good drivability, I believe the 306 is a lil much but to each his own....I managed a 12.5 @110 with stock stall , and heads, I believe the 306 is not all that great without a stall...But to each his own...it is a weekend car as well.....its up to you man.......

Not a factor as the car is inspected till 2005 and the 383 will be done before then and all emissions crap will be junked at that point

I threw a 306 in mine with about the same mods as you, no stall. I have yet to drive the car though b/c I think the opti crapped out after I ran the car for about 30 min. The reason they say it will not be too streetable is the low vacuum which I threw a code for (code 33) and the car might stall at lights. It idled alright for me at 600 but wiht the programming, Im not sure what Bryan bumped it to. Being in gear will be another story. We shall see this week sometime when I get the new opti in.

It sure does pollute though. My eyes started watering when I started it in the garage. Wihtout tuning. It sounded bad as **** though!!!

the 306 makes power in the upper rpms. with the stock stall, you spend a lot more time in the lower rpms. i'd probably go with the cc305 if you are keeping stock stall. i am running that cam right now and it has really good manners.
