The Hot Cam is cut at 112, thats why it sounds more "camier", both cams are about the same size. Last time I checked hot cams will pass with a tune, same with CC305, no tune both cams will run worse than stock and fail smog horribly. But theres always one person who begs to differ.

Specs
LT4 , 218 / 228, .525 / .525 112 LSA

CC305 220 / 230, .510 / .510 114 LSA

The CC305 is rated with 1.5 Rockers, I think with 1.6 I heard it comes out to the CC305 lifting .544 with 1.6s. The Hot cam is already rated at 1.6 for sure. I think the Cc305 will pass cut at a 112, just get that sucker tuned. Call Comp and tell then you want a CC305 cut at 112. They will do it for you.

I have been wanting to do a cam since I was like 6 before I knew what it even was, just liked that sound. Later found out it was a cam.

When I do my cam this summer, it will be a CC305 custom ground with a 112lsa and maybe a few more degrees of duration:)

Combination motor sports will give you an actual kit for the cc305 cam. It is 580.00 plus shipping( about 10.00 ) and i hear it is worth the extra $$. This is what i plan to do this summer. I do have one question though, Will i need an air compressor to replace the springs in order to keep the valves from falling?? Thanks, Jason.

from what I've read from this question being asked, you can do it without having to do the air compressor thing. I want to do this method, but it got to be a tight fit, so it may not work well. Anyway if you make sure the piston is a TDC then the valve won't fall all the way down. You could also stick some rope inside the cylinder to take up even more space.
