cc305 and 383 stroker
cc305 and 383 stroker
Would a CC305 go well with my stroker with stock heads? IM sure it will be better than a close to stock cam. I have all stock other than the stroker, shorty headers with 3 inch exhaust(no cat), and the heads were "aggressively" cleaned up. The motor is also balanced. How much power could be made and will it be worth doing?
BTW...How much should gas mileage be affected if im doing 65% highway driving?

A lot of people will tell you that the 305 is too small for a 383 but I chose it because I wanted good low end for the street and didn't want to have to wind the engine past 6000. Before I installed my SC, my set up made 365 rwhp at 5700 rpm and 388 rwtq at 3700 rpm. At 2500 rpm it was already making 355 rwtq.
The dyno showed that the hp starts falling off sharply at about 6100 with this cam.
My heads were just mildly ported and polished and I'm sure that I would have benefitted from better heads. If I had it to do over, I would save up and buy a good set of heads when doing a 383. The increased cubes need to breathe.
Here's other info not listed in my sig:
CC 305 ground on a 112 lsa---1.6 rr intake/1.5 rr exhaust
54mm throttle body
30lb injectors
Electric water pump
Ed Wright tuning
Car had an M6 when dynoed
10.6:1 compression
