CC304 and 1.6's with LT4 springs?

I have a CC304 cam (Don't laugh) and Lt-4 springs. I just wanted to make sure there would be no issue with my springs if I were to go with 1.6RRs?

How much lift is on that cc304 cam? I know most people on here feel that the lt4 springs are about maxed out with the hotcam and 1.6rr. That combo would yield .525/.525. If the cc304 is anything much over that I would upgrade the springs. Would suck to wreck the engine by trying to save a few $$ on springs.

EDIT: I did some searching around and although you may want to verify this, it seems that combo would have .533/.544 of lift. I want to say that the Lt4 springs are rated up to .550 lift, however I dont know that I would try to be that marginal on the setup.

Those numbers sound right. Maybe I'll have to go with 1.5 rr :-( Anyone else have any opinions on weather or not it would be safe?

Why not just upgrade the springs a little and stick with the 1.6rr? If money is that tight I would either look to pick up a used set of good springs, or save a little bit longer and purchase new.

Oh ok, I guess if I was going to go through the trouble of swapping in RR, I would just take a couple more hours, a few more beers, and do the springs at the same time. It would bother me to know that I could have had a faster car if I just was willing to spend a few more hours that last Sat. afternoon.. But ehhh...thats just me! Either way I wouldn't put the 1.6s in with those springs.

Shoebox has good writeups on his site for both valve spring replacement and cam swaps. It would be worth it just to replace your springs other then purposely limiting your setup to avoid changing them.

The Crane 10308 spring kit would work nicely with that combo, and its pretty cheap to at ~$150ish....

No that will not work with LT4 springs. I think the lift comes out to .533/.544. I forget the lift figures 210/220 .500/.510??? Something like that.

Edit: I just saw that it was posted earlier.
