CC 306 and stock tuning?
your missing what im saying: he asked will the car run on stock tunning, and you said no. you are very wrong. it will run. not at its best, but it will run. he didnt ask about the map sensor or anything, just will it run. and like you said its his money, and yes a tunning would be great on that cam. but thats his choice.
you contidicted your self in the first two sentences of each post. first you say no way that its a must you have tunning then the second post says you put data master on your buddies car with 306 and stock tunning and the map sensor was messing up.
the fact is it will run. im not saying it doesnt need a tune. but that was not the question.
im not trying to argue the point.
and by the way gas is 1.60 here for regular.
im glad that everybody at fbody.com likes you (im not saying i dont) but the fact that was the first fbody sight i found on the net and the first one i left. and will never go back. but thats another story.
i disagree about wether the car will run or not thats all.

Point taken and maybe clarification is needed, running like crap is to me, not running at all, And i think thats a awfully thin hair we are splitting here. YEa that dude asked a question, i gave my spin on it, and in the larger picutre i think it makes much more sense.
Not to be breaking *****, but im here to help out, i post when i feel the need to, to help out, If i am wrong id admit, but this i am not, but if you want to put it in the narrow context of the question then i guess I am, but agian a fine hair to be split.
But hey we can win them all right lol.

My God!! Why why why why why, just ask someone to give you a 306 tune and upload it to your car. Get the tune, look over it and just take a good peak at the kr tables and timming advance then pop her in and deal with it.
Now when you go on the dyno tune you have somewhere to start with and not from scratch. Unless your a master tunner which I really doubt you are or else you'd have a nice tune to throw in there.

Or get pcmforless to make you a tune but I would assume it would work out to be mucho expensiveO.
Re: CC 306 and stock tuning?
Hey just to let ya'll know. I just installed a CC306 in my motor. W/ stock tune, intake, & exhaust manifolds it runs fine... probubly not at optimal performance but fine. I could concur with the vaccume issue. It has very low vacume at low RMP.
I am getting 22mpg highway w/ my A4. Slightly lower than I got w/ the stock cam. BUT DEFINATLY NO 8-10MPG. I don't know where that came from. SOOOO I don't what you guys are talking about but it just doesn't seem to add up.
One thing that is REALLY starting to get to me in these newgroups is people speaking w/o experience. If you haven't done it... you're advise is hearsay at the best. If you have then ok tell us whatz up. Otherwise keep your rumors to yourself!
Hey pal. The car will run fine with a CC306. The cam's a hoot and if ya get a tune, and rest of bolt ons up to speed... you'll be screamin! It'll work fine w/ stock heads, intake, etc. I ported and polished mine on my own a little but it should be fine w/o head work. Good luck.

Re: CC 306 and stock tuning?
get the tune. its only 75 for lifetime updates from bryan at www.pcmforless.com. i also bought a cable from steve ruse for 65 at www.wotelectronics.com. bryan sent everything i needed to load the new program. my total custom tune cost was 140 with tax and shipping and now i do my own scans and loads. i can see why you might wait on the tune if you had the cost of a laptop to go with it. just move your pc into the garage and use that.
IMHO it would run on stock tuning.
