Go for it, it sounds so much better. The only draw back would be emissions. If you dont have to worry about that than go for it.

Re: Cats Or No Cats

You will need O2 sims so the computer wont throw a SES light, So its not really a "free mod," take that into consideration.

You wont notice any power increase from the drivers seat, but your exhaust will definately be louder.

I see your only modification is a moroso intake. In my opinion, you'd probably be better off spending the 02 sim money the money on a muffler if youre on a budget. If youve got more, then spring for a full catback.

Re: Cats Or No Cats

Why would you need o2 sims since the cat is downstream of the sensors?

On the OBDII cars there are and extra set of 02 sensors downstream from the cats.

i'd say no
like steveo said, just save for a catback or even just a muffler (or cutout if that's what you prefer )

The only downside of taking off your cats would be the smell that comes out of your exhaust. It's a rich gasoline smell, not very good if its a daily driver. If it's not a daily driver then go for it. I have my cat off right now and i'm switching back soon.

I dont get a strong gas smell at all, it actually doesnt smell much different at all.

Maybe your car smelling rich could be due to you having your MAF screen removed.

I did this mod and felt it from the drivers seat. Maybe my butt is more sensitive.

By the way, a cutout is one of the best mods you can do for the money. Best catback ever! Period.

PS I have some o2 sims for sale cheap.
