Cats!?

I have a 96 Z28 and the right-side cat went bad, and I went to chevy with my discount and get just the one cat for 425 dollars!? I was wondering if there are any cheap alternatives, I don't want to gut it, and don't want to cut out the old one and weld a new one in.... any help? I have considered the random tech y-pipe, as it has both cats... and maybe searching until I find a good stock one?

WoW 425 bucks!!

I would just say find an aftermarket one. Or if your planning on doing some kind of headers now might be a good time to do them since your going to have to replace the y-pipe anyways unless you do shorties..

Re: Cats!?

My future mods would include cats either way, I plan on mimicing the Lingenfelter 383 for our cars, at a fraction of the price, with LE heads, the superram, LPE cam... and see if she will pass emissions... with over 400rwhp/rwtq, without any paying off or cheating... Something unique and I don't want a race car, but more of a.. woah, never seen that before!! The 96-97 cars suck for exhaust, but oh well.
