I have a 97z with the dual cats. I put a straight pice of pipe for the one cat and the one next to the motor I gutted it. Sounds fine. This is the cheapest thing you can do for now.Later when you have more money you can do what ever you want.

is it from before or after you installed your headers? and which one is it?

Well, i think im just going to gut both of them. All they are doing right now is clogging up my exhaust. Hopefully it will feel better and get better mileage when im done. Cuz they are both doing fairly bad now.
Where i live we have emissions test, but if you have a 95 or older car, they just do a visual inspection to make sure you got a cat and that the exhaust you have now is in working condition and that it fits your model/make. Since they do this where i live, would it be a good idea to gut the cat? i got a hooker cat-back on now, and i plan on getting headers soon. Is it hard to do? and how would i go about doing it? I want to do it, but my dad doesn't thik it is a good idea, so i want to do it without him knowing
. How long would it take to do, cuz i would have to do it right when i get home form school and get it done before he gets home!
thanks
