cat delete?

I have jet hot long tubes and an slp loudmouth. When I put my engine in come spring I am going to get rid of the cat. Will the y-pipe for the jet hots take the place of the cat or do I have to put a small orp in its place? How did you guys do it? My slp has the ball flange on the end where it hooked to the cat and I don't believe the y-pipe has that!Any help on what you guys did would be appreciated

Re: cat delete?

I think the ypipe from Jethot is the offroad version. But take it from me, thru the SLP LM it sounds like poop.

I have heard that but I certainly hope not. Hopefully it will be loud and rude as hell

Re: cat delete?

dude...do a search headers alone with loudmouth sounds like ****. i was going to get the LM with my setup (MAC headers MAC ypipe and supercat) and many advised me away. Its not going to sound BAda$$ like u think it will. Its going to sound horrible and people will b laughing at u. If i thought it would have sounded halfway decent i would have ordered it. This is one of those things where louder is not better

My friend's LT + cats + LM combo sounds good IMO, better than most ppl would have you believe. The cats kill almost ALL the rasp.

Re: cat delete?

With cats it sounds good, but once you go orp, it's poop.

Re: cat delete?

I love the sound of no cats. Mine doesn't pop too much until after 3000 rpm.

Re: cat delete?

maybe I'll reconsider the cat back but I'll wait to hear it for myself.to answer my question, though, will I need an orp or will the y pipe reach the cat back.

Re: cat delete?

Can anyone answer my question with out their opinion on how it may sound? I'd hate to start installing only to find I have to wait for parts. I can weld up and fab an orp out of stainless(its what I do!), I'm just trying to prepare, thats all!
