Cat Bracket Question

Hello guys, I'm still in the process of finishing up my header install, I put 94-95 MAC's on my 97 bird, my question is for the cat bracket, the one from my 97 dosn't reach and I looked up the one from a 95 and it looks the same, it's a different part number though, does anybody know if I order that if it will reach? Or what year bracket I could order that would reach? Also where the cat would be I ordered the piece of starigth pipe that MAC offers, it still has a place for the cat bracket to hook up though.

thanks

Re: Cat Bracket Question

I think what your missing is the S-pipe from where the cat would be to where your 97 catback is.

Re: Cat Bracket Question

No I have an s-pipe, I guess basically I'm asking is the 95 cat bracket longer than the 97 cat bracket.

Re: Cat Bracket Question

Sorry if I sound confusing, I have to go to work so I will work on a sig later, but basically the bracket that attaches to a piece of rubber right by the transmission and torque arm, and then comes out and has two holes which correspond to the two holes that hold the cat up.

So in other words is the bracket that hold's the cat on in a 97 dual cat set-up(the cat under the car, not the one right below the drivers side header) shorter than the one that holds the cat on in the 95 single cat set-up.

The one off my 97 is about 2-3 inches too short, so i am wondering since I converted to a 95 style header if a 95 model year cat bracket will be longer than the one on my 97 and reach the off-road pipe I have in place of the cat. (The offroad pipe has two holes in it so it can be hooked up to a bracket.)

Sorry if this is still confusing, when I get home from work I will make a sig and try to find some pictures of what I'm talking about.

thanks for your help.
Chris
