Cat with 2 bolt Flange on each end? Anyone?

I'm looking to find a high flow cat that has a two bolt flange on each end. Anyone know where I can find one at a good price?

My exhaust should end up like this:
Mac '94-'95 style headers, Y-pipe, cat, S-pipe, '96-'97 cat-back

Both ends of the cat need to be flanged with this setup. That way I can also replace it easily with a off road pipe or bullet muffler.

Does Carsound make one like this?

Thanks,
Dan

i had a muffler shop weld a 3 bolt flange on the end of my y-pipe so I can bolt a cat on and off for emmissions testing...they messed up and angled the flange weird so when I went to bolt the cat or "test pipe" on it does match up right and causes an exhaust leak, and a really annoying noise...so just make sure they line up everything right.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not an exhaust fitting expert, so this might be a dumb question.

Do muffler shops normally have the flanges that I would need to weld to the CAT or bullet Muffler?

You'll want to go with a 3 bolt flange on the Y pipe side. a 2 bolt will usually leak like crazy. Then on the catback side, you want to use the ball and socket flange (stock setup). www.z28roc.cz28.com/Bullet.jpg
The only place that I know of that sells that part is RK sport. I'm sure someone else has them, I just don't know who. Also you could find someone with an old cat. and cut the ball off, and use that.
Summit sells 3 bolt flanges.

Thanks for the reply.

How come it leaks at the Y-pipe with a 2 bolt flange and not at the cat-back side?

That bullet with the flanges is exactly what I was talking about, but I think the MAC headers only have a 2 bolt flange on the Y-pipe, at least it looks that way from the MAC header pictures here: http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=457

Did you weld that yourself? If not, where did you have it done?

Ok I see now what you're talking about.
If the macs really come like that on the Y pipe. Any exhaust shop will have that fitting. And yes it will work just fine. I thought you meant 2 bollt flat flange.

Yes I welded up the bullet in my garage.

O.k. Thanks.

Let's say that I wanted to make a bullet ORP like you have. Mine would look the same except that the 3 bolt flange would need to be a female adaptor to accept the ball of the MAC Y-pipe?

Yep, but you'll want to install the headers and y pipe first. So you will know exactly what fittings you need. And total lenghth of the orp.
