Carsound Cats?

gonna order the Jet-Hot long tubes soon, and I've decided that I want to keep the car as legal as possible, so I'm gonna spend the extra money for high flow cats. I've heard good things about Carsound high flow cats. Does anyone know where I can get them the cheapest? Are they universal?

So far that's what I've found.....wasn't sure if we need a special cat made for our cars or something....

It's a 96, so I need 2.

Relocating the cats makes it illegal already.

Sorry, don't know if you don't have emissions or not. Anyways, don't know about carsound (I'm sure they do) but Random Technology has them for the fbodies. Not cheap though. Thunder Racing has them. I'm not sure if this anwswer you question either.

yeah random technology is good stuff but too expensive.....I don't have emissions in Florida, I just want it so that if I get pulled over, and a cop looks under there, I want it to at least look legal.

I got mine off of E bay as well, actually I called up the company and ordered directly from them, and couldn't be happier. I paid 50 sales price plus 10 bucks shipping. They work real well, not as much packing and very freeflowing. I've seen a couple of flow charts on them, and they were placed 2nd best next to random tech? Can't remember fro sure who beat them, but they are one of the most free-flowing. True they do relocate back a couple inches, but youi won't be fined for not having them, and I imagine many states don't care where they are located. After going back to cats, I'm much happier, I can say I'm not breaking the law, making great power and the car smells great. Personally I don't know how some people can have heads/cam without them, the smell would be unbearable for me.

FYI, Jet-Hot is supposed to be releasing a dual-cat y-pipe setup for their Jet-Hot LTs sometime towards the end of September. I was told by Chris @ Jet-Hot that the entire assembly will be ceramic coated AND that the cats are flanged and can be switched with straight pipes in a matter of minutes for an ORP configuration (similar to the FLP y-pipe setup). I have the Jet-Hot LTs and I'm waiting for this setup to be released before I install them. Plus, Chris said they're trying to target a price of $360 for the y-pipe and cats and the ceramic coating. I hope they pull it off, cause I'm camping on their doorstep!

I had one on my car but had to replace it because it failed smog. The shop replaced it for free since it was only a year old but he said that although they are very free flowing that they only last a couple of years at best because there is so little material in them. I didn't get a chance to look at the inside after it was removed but I believe I may have contributed to the failure by smacking it a couple of time over speed bumps. I put a stock one back in for smog and will make it removable (replace with a cutout) when I do my SLP install. There is a hughe difference between the Carsound and the "stock" one in both sound and SOTP feeling. THe off the line performance was much better with the 3" High Flow Carsound Cat.
