Carbon on brand new plugs?

installed some ngk tr6 plugs and had the car running for bout two hrs in the last two days while working on it. i pulled the plugs cause my rocker arms were just alittle tight still. the plugs were black with carbon?? now whats that because of the vavles being out of adjust and too much fuel was coming in? are these plugs junk now?? could that be why it takes acouple seconds for the car to start??

Re: Carbon on brand new plugs?

Are you sure its carbon and not oil? I am not sure but how many steps colder are those plugs? You could be running rich and causing the plugs to foul, or the plugs could be too cold and not be igniting properly.
