car wont start, and shooting flames from the Y pipe after opti and waterpump install
I think the most reasonable awnser would be that the opti was put on wrong. I almost did this on mine as i didnt notice that outta the 3 holes one was machined different , U have to line the spline or w/e its called on the shaft with the diffent hole in the opti. Youll no if it is in the hole or not because if its not the opti will be held out about a 1/4" and cant be pushed on. If its like this , pull it off and try again till u get the right hole lined up rite. Once you line the odd hole up with the shaft correctly it will slide on smooth and easy all the way ...

I agree, fingers crossed. I won't be able to make it to California Speedway this weekend. Should be close but I can't exactly tell at this time. Good luck on the car! I sure would like to see them!
On a side note, if it makes you feel any better, I've got a major company picnic in Huntington Beach this weekend and three extra tickets... Lunch is on me if you can make it for Saturday lunch!
About the water pump seal, I just ordered two from Jason Cromer. If the first one goes on easy, I'll have an extra. Since it is apart and the water pump is off, you may want to consider changing it.

pass side from front to back is 2-4-6-8
firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Correct, the numbers 1,3,5,7 are the numbers on the driver's side of the engine.
2,4,6,8 are the numbers on the passenger side of the engine.
The numbers AT THE OPTI are different. The proper sequence is indicated on the link to Shoebox's thread.

i got my car started. the new opti was bad. everything works fine when i put my old opti back. the guy screwed me over. no one will be rewarded since no one guessed it right in the first time

The old opti still works. That guy sold you a lemon opti. Get your money back... let me know if he doesn't take care of you. Don't forget to tighten the header bolts after each hot/cold cycle for the first 3-5 times.
Just to let everyone know, I did not "rip him off." When the opti came off my car three weeks ago it worked fine. I did notice that he said there was a water pump leak after he installed my opti. Hmm. Anyway, I am having him ship the opti back to me and giving him a complete refund. I just don't want to look like I'm ripping people off here.

just to let everyone knows. AndyCLT1 did not, again did not rip me off. he have no idea what so ever that the opti he sold me was bad. he is a fair guy, very good to deal with. it's just happen that the opti was bad. so please, dont think bad off him. i apologize if i said something wrong. i'm in no way of starting a flame against him. it's not AndyCLT1's fault.
