Car won't start..... battery??
Well I drove my car to work tonight..... it started just like normal, and everything was normal..... I go into work, come out 5 hours later and the car won't start. the gauge lights are very dim, and the starter was clicking. I guess something totally killed the battery while I was at work. I unplug the amps, and get a friend to jump my battery. well we hook up the cables, and the interior lights come on and everything is working fine, so I think "ok cool, it will start now". Well I turn the key, and the car turns over slowly a few times, then the clicking comes back. Is the started bad? alternator?? bad battery?? I need to figure this out, my car is sitting at work right now.

Bad connections can cause the problem you are having. Check the ground strap on the frame and the engine to be sure they are clean and shiny. Also pull the straps off the battery and be sure they are clean and shiny. Then check the voltage across the battery when you try to crank the engine. If it goes below 11 volts, it's shot. With a good battery in, start the engine and measure the voltage across the battery again. It should now be close to 14 volts.
