Car wont start!!!!!
Car wont start!!!!!
It rained all day yesterday and my car sat from Friday night till this morning. So, I went too start my car this morning and as I turn the key I hear a load clunk, now it did this same thing a few weeks ago after it rained then fired right up, so I tried again and it momentarily started but really rough for about 3 seconds and it cut off. Then I tried again and it turns over but will not fire. I checked fuel pressure and its fine(42 PSI). Sometimes when Ill try and start it Ill hear a clunk from underneath the engine(at least thats where I think it is). Does thios sound like the Opti? As far as I know its the stocker and Im at 123K. Ive got plugs with less than 3K on them and wires as well. Any Ideas on what I can do? I pulled the Elbow off and I can see little puddles of water on the intake.
Re: Car wont start!!!!!
The clunking sounds like a starter issue to me. And the no starting sounds like a opti issue. Watter puddling up in the intake???
That's not good........maybe the CAI is getting water in it somehow? These are just online guess's but that's what it sounds like to me.

Re: Car wont start!!!!!
Alrighty, its gotta be the Opti!!! I pulled the coil wire and its firing, but there's no fire at the plugs. Where can I get one? Sam Taylor, GM Partsdirect? Any install guides? And how tough/long of a job is it.
Re: Car wont start!!!!!
I would get one from Dal or Jason Cromer . . . I believe that their contact info is on Shoebox's site . . . along with info on the swap.
Changing the opti is a piece of cake, and can be done from the top without jacking the car up. Basically all you are doing is removing the waterpump to access the opti. It should not take you more than a few hours since it's your first time.
