Car wont start.
It ran great yesterday. It was a warm evening last night, get in this morning and it wont start. It turns over fine.
Its a '95 Camaro A4. Opti is only 5 months old and I am getting spark to plugs I can I can hear the fuel pump turn on when I click the ignition and I can smell the gas.
I heard a noise coming from the drivers side of the engine sounds like something engaging electrically followed by a *beep*.After cranking the engine I can not recreate it.
Fuses look good.
Any ideas?

OBE1 95Z28 when you were born did you see three wise men with gifts and a big star over your head ?
My girl belives that she fixed it cause it started just when she moved the air freshener.
Holding the gas pedal down while turning it over solved the problem. It took 10 minutes and lots of smoke / fumes occured. But after 10 minutes it started. Thank you.

Ok now that i let the car sit there for 6 hours it again hard started, thios time only 30 seconds and again same results - Black smoke everywhere/ sputtering then it started.
I did a search and read and read.
I had noticed when I 1st had this problem today after I removed the black rubber intake to the throttlebody a few drops of gas in front of the throttle blades.
At 1st I thought well it was desieling. After reading my search I was thinking Fuel Pressure Regulator. I pulled of that vaccumm hose to the pass side and smelt gas, But I did not see any gas in there.
I pulled of the vaccumm line and had friend start car while I looked and no fuel came out.
Fuel Pressure Regulator ?

Check to make sure your air filter isn't clogged. My intake system gets plenty of air (Vortech blower) but about 3 times a year mine won't start and I have to hold the gas pedal down. Runs just fine after that!
Are you due for a tune-up...might pull a couple of spark plugs and verify they look fine.
Those of us that have been on the list for a while show a list register date of 1970...I think it was a system glitch a while back.

Yeah my bad I should have said plugs were 2 months old and all look tight. I'll clean the K&N tommorrow.
Should I worry that I smell fuel in the vacuum line to the fuel regulator or could that be normal ?

Sounds like you are experiencing a flooding condition. Holding the pedal down helps to clear it.
There should be no gas smell in the vacuum line. It may not leak when you pull the hose off the regulator because there is no vacuum pulling on it. You could also have a leaky injector if there really is no problem with the regulator. You might want to test your fuel pressure while running and then see what it does when you turn the engine off.

Ok then I will go out and buy the fuel pressure tester and see what it does.
Actually shoebox when I did a search on this type of testing your name popped up everywhere asking people to do the exact same thing, to break down and buy one, even if they only have to use it once or twice.
I think you have mentioned you used it about six times.
Thankyou for the help.
