Same problem, different solution?

I had nearly the same problem on my 1990 rs v-6. The guy that had it before me installed an alarm. He had put a different ignition in and left the stock VATS ignition installed but put it by the alarm. Some how the two wires to the ignition got cut and it wouldn't crank for crap. It would turn over with full power. However no cranking. I taped the two back together and wah-lah! That could be it if you have a different ignition. They are VERY VERY SMALL white and orange wires running into a connector on my car. Hope this helps.

resetting? I have enver heard of that but I am not a genius. All I know is that if you stick the wrong key in there and try to crank it wont crank. It has to be the key you got originally unless you have changed out ignitions. If you do that you still need to keep the old ignition I believe hidden somewhere. Maybe someone else can help.
