Red face Car Won't Go In The Rain

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN THE RAIN, AND MY CAR STAILED OUT. I THINK MY DISTRIB. MIGHT BE CRACKED. AFTER I LET MY CAR SIT FOR ABOUT 15 MINS IT STARTED UP AND I DROVE IT THE 3 MILES BACK HOME. DOES IT SOUND LIKE I HAVE A CRACKED DIST. AND IF SO, WHAT IS A GOOD PERFORMANCE REPLACEMENT? IS IT A HARD JOB TO DO? OH YEA IT IS ON MY 94 Z28. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Sounds like a wet O2 sensor. At least that's what I was diagnosed with when my car did the exact same thing.

Bad opti symptoms would be a lot of missing, a rough idle and a loss in power.

thanks for the help so far

Would the oxygen sensor cause it to stall out? Also I have been noticing a little loss of power during regular driving, and during accelertation. The o2 sensor would cause all that would it?

Could there be a reason the opti keeps getting wet? It was replaced 2 years ago(20,000miles ago). WOuld it be possible that it could have crack or something?

The LSx motors came out with coil packs...We have an Optispark distributor in the front of the motor under the waterpump...

I would guess the opti got wet, it is a known weak spot in the ignition as far as wetness goes...

Just pick up one from Dal or Jason Cromer(do a search for #s)

I'd say from the 6 or 7 I've did that it's at least a 4hr job if you know what your doing and taking your time with everything...

Not difficult, but tedious getting the opti back on perfectly and making sure no water leaks from the Water Pump.

Any questions you can PM me or e-mail me
