Car wont get up past 4K
Car wont get up past 4K
I will start from the begining I had the Opti replaced and the car ran awesome for 4 months...I was looking down the passenger side of the engine compartment and found the ground wire for the PCM just dangiling so I found out where it went I tried to put it on but no success. So I used a self tap screw to hold it to the body, well it came loose and started arcing against the body and fried the PCM. The codes are as follows
33- MAP sensor system voltage too high
41- No ignition control circuit
42- Ignition control circuit
51- EEPROM error
Ok now that has been said my parts list is as follows all of this is after the incident at the track where it happened...then just today I thought I fixed it again so I got on the freeway and gave it gas ~4000 and it had a really hard time climbing past that ?MAF? So I got off and popped the hood and my plug wires were smoking so maybe thats why.. it DID throw a code after all of this bogging on the freeway but it took awhile
MAP sensor
Cleaned MAF
Cleaned TB
Checked the #1 plug only
PCM and put the ground where it is supposed to be on the block
I do have the DELTEQ system and do NOT have the vacuum hose going from the passenger side valve cover to the TB
I have tried everything to my knowledge and since im in high school I dont have the money for diagnostic fees right now..
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly greatly appriciate it, my guess is something simple but I think I have covered all of the bases
Once again thanks in advance

your first set of codes could easily be tied to that ground. did you replace the PCM or just re-ground it after it came loose again.
second, the hose for the PCV system shouldnt really cause too much other than buildup of carbon on the inside of the engine from blow-by. the pcv clears that up. you should put it back, but if you've blocked the hole in the t-b then you should be fine...and i assume there's no open hole in the cover...?
check for pirate air, or air entering the engine that's not passing the maf. that could be your problem, as that will also set a MAP code since vacuum is not where it's supposed to be. if the air is not passing the maf, fuel will be limited to what air is being passed through the maf.
my suggestion to you is this: check ALL intake air hoses and vacuum lines for leaks. replace maf with a friend's or with a known good unit for testing. check vacuum line to map for water or carbon, replace line and map if there's anything. pull pcm and replace with known good one for testing if you have a buddy with the same setup...ie: auto and obd1 or manual and obd2 or whatever...
do one step at a time and see what fixes it. the lack of a ground to the engine will cause all kinds of weird problems...like shifter linkage problems for autos or guage problems for the obd1 cars and manual trans...it's a ground thing. if you can't get the proper cables or straps, just hit up the local 'stereo shop' for some 4g ground cable and tie a new 'strap' in. should be as follows...bat to engine, engine to firewall...bat to chassis.
