car won't fire ... thoughts?

Well, after a long three months of working many hours today was going to be the day. Everything is done and when I went to fire it the car won't start. Long story short I basically took a stock '94 Formula and added the mods in my signature. The car will turn over, and I smell fuel, but it doesn't appear to be getting spark. My thoughts are this:

1. I removed the stock console to add a B&M Pro Stick and cut every wire back that ran to the console (must have been 20 or more) except the two needed for the neutral safety switch (which works fine). Was there anything in those wires that would have caused it not to fire? I'm thinking not but wanted to make sure.

2. The new MSD opti ... ??? The opti went it fine when I aligned the index spot and the only wire to really connect (other than the vent lines) was up along the intake on the passenger's side. IIRC it was simply unplug one and plug the MSD in. They're closed on the weekend so I can't call until Monday after work.

The car had a MSD coil which worked fine when I bought it and I've added new plugs and Accel wires. All connnections there look good. Any thoughts on how to go about trouble shooting? Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

Id check to see if your getting any codes that lead you to the opti, or check the coil, on my old camaro the coil went out while the car was not running.

Have you checked to see if you are getting spark? Best thing to do is look at a schematic and find out what wires you cut.

Good advice. When I had everything taken out of the engine compartment that I wasn't going to reuse, prior to puttting all new parts on, I pressure-washed it. I may have gotten the ignition module wet. I'm almost positive it's the original one (130,000 miles) and the coil looked pretty old also despite being an MSD unit. I'm "assuming" I didn't get a bad MSD opti, ordered a new coil from Summit, and will order a new ignition module from Dal first thing Monday morning. It wouldn't hurt to have both of those fresh anyway. If that doesn't get it to spark, I'll start checking fuses. Past that, I may I have to take it to the GM garage to check codes. I'm betting a new coil and module fix it ...
