Car Trouble

i have a 94 chevy camaro z28
well this is what happend:
i was driving my buddy home from work and i drove all the way to his house and i looked at my water temp gauge and everything was fine so i got there parked it and shut it off......steamed a little bit and lost a little bit of water.......let it sit overnight and didnt do anything to it......went to start it that morning and it wouldnt start later looking at it my thermostat was unplugged because it had broken off.......so im not sure how hott i got it but anyways had a buddy plug in a snap on computer and check my car out.........didnt read out one code but it said the dersired idle was at 3000 rpms so i but a new idle air control arm on it and still no luck.........ive checked my injectors with a node they are fine i have gas checked my spark its there...........so im really really lost any help would be great im just a broke 18 year old kid trying to go to college.......thanks for any help.

Does it still turn over? What thermostat plug are you talking about being un-plugged? There are two. One for the gauge and one for the computer. Was it the one in the head or in the water pump.

still turns over and acts like it kinda wants to start sometimes........it was the thermostat for the gauge in the side of the block

Its actually in the head, but thats counting oranges.
Maybe it got so hot it fried the ICM? You getting spark? I saw where you are getting fuel so thats out.

im getting spark too! the icm huh? what exactly is that?

honestly not really sure.........you think it might have and thats what did it? as far as im concerned it seems electrical.....but what do i know....lol

If you are getting fuel and getting spark, that really covers the bases. Are the plug wires straight, like the firing order? You can get an ICM at A-Zone. Its the ignition control module.
Does it seem like it tries to start?

yep plug wires straight havent touched em............firing order hasent been messed with either...........so they should be fine.........yeah but it tries to start sometimes but just wont get going

Like it starts and runs real ruff? Then dies if you give it gas? Sounds like an opti. Its a hassle, but do you know somebody to swap with? See if that fixes it.

no thats not it.........it wants to start but it wont run
