Whenever I drive my car at very low rpms in first gear, it starts surging or rocking back and forth and clanking. The rpms look like they are staying the same. When I push in the clutch it stops. It is very rough when it does it. It doesn't do it when I drive a normal speed, just when I am looking for a parking place at school. What could it be? I think it might be my gears going out or maybe my clutch. My clutch isn't slipping at all however. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

 

i have an a4 and when im drivin fast there is barley anything but u can notice a little bit of a hesitation. but when i slow down it jerks and drops about 50 rpms. Mine was a bad rotor on the optispark.
