Car stumbles and runs like crap before it shifts

****, now my car is acting up. Right before it shifts the car just dies and stumbles like a ****, it shifts, runs fine then does it again before it shifts again. WTF? It just started doing that this week. Had not done it once for 2 months since the cam went in. Any ideas? I am changing the plugs this weekend and gonna check the wires too. My plugs are have been fouled beyond recognition for quite some time now but it has ran fine. Could it be bad gas too?

My ETs this past weekend at Norwalk ranged from 14.1 @ 101 to a 13.7 @ 105. Sometimes it does it more and sometimes less. As compared to what is in the sig. There wasn't a single run that it didnt do it.

trust me, you would know if you had bad gas. Does it only happen at high rpms, low rpms or the whole rpm range?

EGR Valve. Mine did the exact same thing. Almost sounds like it's flooding out, right? I didn't know what was causing it either then I finally got an SES light and pulled a code 32 when I scanned it, which is for the EGR valve.

I am having the same exact problem right now, thus the search and bringing this post from the dead. Can you just clean the egr valve, or do you have to get a new one? Kind of stupid about egr. I have heard some people just removing it?

I think I also have the same problem. Does it seam like it's running out of gas? Is that what it does when you say itruns like crap? Mine does it when really stepping on it and around 4.5 RPM all the way up. When ever it feels like it.

I had that exact problem your describing and it was my fuel pump.
I ALSO have a low RPM stumble around 1600-2000k (approx around the shift point.) and this was not fixed.

Thanks for your input. But was your fuel pump shot or did you need a performance one?

Pump was shot.. My cars pretty much stock (see sig).
Fuel pressure was 20 PSI at idle and with key in ignition. I went to Canadian tire bought a 60$ fuel pressure guage and tested it and returned the gauge a few days later after the repair was done.
