Oh yeah, and code 307 came back today too (bypassed MSD and hid all visible parts of the nitrous kit)

I forgot to ask, Bank one is drivers side, right?

Yes, Bank 1 is always on the number 1 cylinder (all manufacturers)....

An off road pipe will work well. But if you have any misfire, next time you hook up your CAT the raw fuel from the misfire will toast the CATs again. CATs don't like raw fuel. A P0307 is the number 7 cylinder on Bank 1 that is misfiring. I'd look into that for sparks or a bad plug. You mentioned N2O... what kind of plugs are you using (don't say platinum please). Also N2O can get really hot and burn the electrodes which are on the side of the spark plug. That could be what is up with #7... but I wouldn't rule out arcing (blue sparks) from the wires.

Yeah, I looked for a lightshow under the hood the other night, all was calm, nothing was bright!

I think it's the cats, but I'll have the dealer check it out tomorrow morning first thing, if it is I'll get an OR y-pipe and make sure the cause of the failure is fixed. (Could have been the broken two wires on the ICM for all I know, so the problem may havw been fixed for a week and the cats are collateral damage.)

Thanks Wild1, but don't worry about me and nitrous, I run a website dedicated to N2O and how to use/install it. I'm currently running Autolite 103's gapped at .040, and they look good (except for being black from raw fuel.)

No blue sparks under the hood.... hmm... were you able to see from under the car (like a ramp)?

Any coolant leaks? That can zap an O2 sensor...

Post your N2O link please... I always like to save good links to my Favorites folder.

Thanks,
Greg

Hey Greg, yeah, I put it up on ramps and had a buddy rev on it for a few minutes, didn't see anything. The coolant and oil both look clean, no cross- contamination.

Website was built when I was heavy into Mustangs, and though a bit dated still consists of very useful information. Click on the N2O info button for details.

Thanks! I like the Hidden Tips!!!

That is good news about the ignition... wires and plugs are good. But the bad news is that we still haven't found the problem.

I'm wondering if it is a lean or rich misfire. Do you have any way to see what the Long Term Fuel Trim (aka BLM) is?

No problem, glad you liked the site man. It was a lot of work initially, but after I got out of Mustangs I kinda let the site languish.

I drove it to the dealers last night (after hiding everything and making under the hood look as stock as possible) and I have a bet with my GF that it's the cats. I know it's getting plenty of fuel, there's just too much soot on the plugs (and it smells rich) for there to be a fuel supply problem.

No scanner yet, I have seen the scanmaster unit (little $250 box on the dash, right?) that looks pretty cool, since I'm apparently gonna keep the car I'll plan on picking one up if they're worth it.

Keep us posted on what the dealer finds.

By the way, Napa is a great place. Been there a few times before I moved east.

Take care.
