Car stall...
Car stall...
I've got a 93 a4 lt1 which i really haven't had any serious problems with. Just a little bit ago on the way back home from a friends the check engine light came on, the steering locked and the car died. It was running perfectly fine before that. It obviously wouldn't start right back up. About ten minutes later it started up and I got home like everything was normal....
I dont really know a lot about cars so I figured I'd ask on here what could cause a car to die like that when everything seems to be fine???

Re: Car stall...
Since it appears that you problem is intermittent, start by retrieving the code.
Use Rob's page for the "How To".

Unfortunately on a vehicle that is 13 years old, it could be one of several things.
My money is on wiring or their connections. Probably somewhere within the ignition system. Fuel pump wiring is a posibility as well.
You could try wiggling the wires on the device that comes up on the retrieved code and see if you can make it cut out.
Some day I'll breakdown and buy the 93 shop manual. Don't know anyone that has one. So I can't give you wiring colors.
