car sounds like I'm hitting the rev limiter at around 3500, valvesprings?

First some important background info...
Car sat for about 6 months, it was supposedly started and ran for about 20 minutes every week but I suspect strongly that it was neglected.

Under 3000 rpms it feels ok, maybe a bit down on power. Above that it sounds like it's hitting the revlimiter and falls on it's face. I can make it accelerate but it does it with protest. It also takes quite awhile to start up, used to start up after 3-4 revolutions, now it can take 20-30 seconds.

I guess it could be the opti, but it's fairly new and it acts fine lower in the rpm range. The cam has .536 .555 lift and I'm using the 987 springs they're around 5 years old with a good 15 xxx miles on them.

small cam, longtubes, !cats !egr etc LT1 and an M6. Nothing changed on the car in a couple years and I didn't really notice it when I just drove it from MO to NY, but I never got on it either.

I'll toss another coil wire on it, I have a spare.

Check for a clogged cat and glowing manifolds at night. Could also be a fuel pressure problem too...

My car felt like crap going up hills, and the powerloss got worse and worse. It was a bad cat

When my fuel pump was on its way out i would have the car fall on its face at WOT. Similar problem with a bad coil too.

Hi,
Try changing the wire from the coil to the opti-spark,my car wouldn't rev past 4500rpm,changed the coil wire and it fixed the problem.
May fix your problem,may not,but it's worth a try,good luck,all the best,Mark.

it's not the torque converter, the car doesn't have one.

it's not cats, the car doesn't have them

the coil wire didn't change anything.
