car is running goofy!! help!!

ok here is the deal last week i cleaned my engine bay and changed my thermostat. i removed the throttle body for access to the back bolt on the thermostat since i have the tnt nitrous plate and need to for access. well anywho since than if i let the car idle long enough the car will want to die but it doesn't not it's like it gets too much fuel but than catches back up on itself and than it throws a code until i drive it some than it shuts off. and also while driving if i push in the clutch pedal the rpms will stay up around 1600 and than slowly die down. when i come to a stop. the car completely trashed a brand new set of 02 sensors they are charcol black after being in for 4 days. i changed the iac sensor, tps, map and, maf sensor and nothing helped. when i put it to a code scanner it showed that when i my car threw the code it was stuck in open loop but when the code shut off it went into closed loop. does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this to happen. the car feels fine when i get on it. please help guy's!!! i'm at a loss for ideas.

how did you go about cleaning it? Water? If so, sounds like you got something wet. Something like the opti comes to mind first...

the car does idle fine just when it seems to go through a cycle it does it. and the opti would be more like a missing problem. and the car does smell really rich. and like i said when i get on it it pulls good. has slight vibration up top but doesn't feel like a miss.

You may have nicked the gaskets for the TB which could be causing a vacuum leak. I'd try replacing them and see what happens.
