Car Problems

Lately my car has been low charging. My charging gauge stay that the half way line. Before it was always above it, like say 14v but now it looks like 10v. I had the alternator and battery checked yesterday and they both tested fine. Yesterday my car died on me once....sputtered then died, but started right back up. It almost died two more times, sputtered, but then I gave it gas and it was fine....this only happens when it is idling. Anybody know what this could be? I was thinking i could have a bad ground wire somewhere......

Thanks guys,

Sounds like the electrical system is good. You may have a engine problem if its running bad at idle. Do you get a check engine light?

Does it idle at 500rpm a lot? Or at least before it dies

No check engine lights. My car has always idled around 500-600. So did my last Z. It died on me about 2 months ago. This was a loud boom and then it just shut off with white smoke coming from where the pcm is located. I changed coils and then it ran. I had a msd hooked up to the ingintion but it would always die after a week of having the msd hooked up. I would change back to stock ignition and it would run again. Now it is dieing on stock ingition too.

I was thinking opti too, but I think it would have died by now..... The thing that still gets me is the white smoke from the back of the intake......i dunno. I did run it pretty hard the other day before it happened though. I am going to disconnect my amp from the positive post and see if that may be drawing to much....I am stumped at this point
