hey everyone im having a problem with my 94 z28...the other day i was driving and the car just shut off after about 5 minutes of driving. after i pulled over the car woudlnt start back up. sounded like it wanted to but didnt..so i ended up getting it towed and when the guy took it off the truck he tried to start it and it started up...so he told me to drive it around for a while..well since then my brake light is on everytime i start the car..took me a while to start it just litlte while ago..any ideas..specs on car are
94 z
99k miles
auto
new starter
plugs and wires
battery

any help would be greatly appreciated.!!

Need more info. Could be the Opti if thats never been replaced. Or Ignition Switch? Too many things to check.

 

what kind of info you need..havnet had the opti replaced in a while..but wouldnt it not turn back on if it was the opti?

 

ok guys been a week since i last posted today i was driving and it happened again..i let the car sit for about 5 minutes and it started up really bad then turned off...let it sit again for about 5 minutes and it started up and i drove it to the mechanic..any ideas?

 

This sounds familiar to what happend to my parents car. They have a 1994 bonneville and it would run great forawhile then wouldnt start then we'd leave it sit and it would fire up.

What it ended up being is bad fuel pick up and sludge in the bottem of the tank.... we also replaced the fuel pump.
