Red face car is in park but wheels still spin!!!!!!!

Added some more fluid lastnight. Put 3 more qts. in it. Cranked it up and gave it a hit of the gas and the tires turned. Not as fast as they should but hey atleast they moved this time. Still haven't gotten to run it long enough to get the tranny heated and such. But I also noticed that when in park up top I can still spin the back tires by hand. And I'm almost positive you aren't supose to be able to do that. Lil background info: tranny has been down for the tq converter install. We left it in park up top but moved it into neutral on the bottom of the tranny. Could this be contributing to the wheels not turning? And why when they do turn do they not turn fast enough?

Did you re-connect the linkage?

sounds to me like your pump isnt working.
Are you sure you put the converter on right (3 clicks)
Did u have to pull the tranny in with the bolts, if u did, you cracked your pump on the tranny and your car wont go anywhere

With both wheels off the ground, wheels will turn in park (in opposite directions). With one wheel on the ground, the wheel in the air should not turn while in park.

No, if your wheels turn in opposite directions then your posi is dead. The wheels should not turn.

Check to see if your driveshaft spins while you do that, if so, trannys gone. If not, posi is gone

Sounds like you need to adjust the cable correctly, or you broke the tabs that hold it in place, no biggie. If you broke the tabs that insert through the holes to hold it in place, you will not be able to select Park....
