car leaking fuel
car leaking fuel
I'm having a little problem that I need some help on. I just put a new fuel pump in my car and everything seemed to be going fine. I drove the car like 25 miles and noticed that it is leaking fuel underneath the car. I've found that the leak is coming from this little white disc on the front of the fuel tank. I took the disc off and to me it appears to be some sort of pressure release valve. It runs directly up to the top of the tank. As soon as I turn the key and the fuel pump kicks on gas just starts pouring out of this thing. My question is what is the thing that the fuel is leaking from. Also, would it be possible for me to have installed the pump incorrectly and the car still have ran fine until now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Shoebox--I thought that I could have done that. The only thing that makes me think that I couldn't have done that is that the lines are completely different lengths. Do you think that if by chance I would've done this that the car would still start up just fine? Thanks for your response man.
I think your right about that. I don't really know what else would cause that thing to act up like that. It's definitely worth a shot to open that up and see if I crossed them up. Just when I though that I couldn't possibly scream and holler at a car anymore it looks like i'm gonna be right back underneath the Z doing some more hollering. Thanks
