Car has trouble barking tires on 1-2 shift?

Hey guys, I just recently got this engine built (3K miles). It feels like it has great power, but when I hit second gear it will barely chirp the tires. Just last week it would break the tires loose when I hit second, and now it will barely chirp them. Is my tranny taking a dump? I've got a brand new centerforce dual friction clutch, and it seems to hook great. Even with the stock motor, this thing would chirp the tires going into third at least. Any suggestions as to what is happening? Thanks in advance.

Not crazy. 3K miles is plenty to open it up occassionally. Yea, the tires are fairly new, but I'm still concerned. Like I said, the motor doesn't lack power, but suddenly the thing won't break the tires loose? It did the last time I got down on it.

the tranny would have nothing to do with that. if it was going out, you just wouldnt be able to put it in gear. maybe something is going wrong with the clutch and its not holding as well as it used too.

Is it a lot warmer out? In winter (dry roads though) my cousins car with street tires will spin in 3rd but now that is summer they chirp but definitly don't get loose. It's a huge difference.

yeah the temp has a lot to do with the shifting. my A4 when i turn it on in the morning i can chirp 1-2-3 like crazy without the trans. perform on. after about 20 min. the car wont even feel like its shifting unless i turn on the trans. perf. so i would think the temp affects the shifting(A4 but dont know about M6)

street demon2k3...
I doubt you're chirping 3rd on dry ground w/ a stock engine. You're probably hearing a band slipping or something. Hell I know my car won't chirp 3rd and I doubt it chirps second but that has a lot to do w/ the stall. Stock stall I spun the hell outta second but my engine isn't stock either.

It's not unbelievable. I could bark the hell out of second and chirp 3rd on dry pavement before I got new tires now I can barely chirp second. Stock internals and stock converter. All cars are different. Mine is a tq monster from the factory I guess.
