Car has no power at all and wont start

Car has no power at all and wont start

Ok so i drove to work today. Car was fine. Went to move it an hoir later and the dashlights came on for a split second then off and the car had no power. No beeps no dashlights no selonoid clicks, nothing. Tried jumping it and nothing. Checked all the connections and fuses i could get to from the top of te engone and still nothing. Intermitently the car will get power. It will beep and my alwarm will work but when oturn the key to on it dies again and no power. Any ideas?




Its a 95 28. a4. Slp cai and vortech elbow. Thats about it for engine mods

have you ever changed the ignition switch ? is the battery fully charged do you have a multimeter? can you mwiggle the switch and anything happen? just some ideas

Sounds like the battery is dead to me - the cells can go bad and no amount of jumping from another car will charge it up to get it to start.

Battery is good. By ignition switch do u mean where the key goes? I
ill check the switch a little later but i was already jiggling the key around in it earlier

Batteries only a couple months old. Ill take it to get tested tomorrow morning

check the cables make sure they are tight

Update


Was playing with all the connections again and got it started. Picked up the battery and put it back down and it started. Thinking a loose connection after the battery since i had no power when jumping it.
