car feels weak

ive noticed recently that my car isnt pulling as hard as i think it should. I thought it was just me so i had a friend try it out and he thinks it does feel a bit weak. He said it may be mis firing, my other friend had this happen to him aso. i thought it was the clutch but when i get on it, its not doing clutch symptoms like just reving real high while in gear. we think that it may be the spark plugs, i guess it would be a tune up. how much would replacing the spark plugs and wires cost? does this sound like a possibility? and if so is it common? and also i think my alternator is going out, would this play a role in it? thanks for the help

It's no big deal - you just need some Nitrous.

If you haven't done a tuneup in a while - that would be the first place to go. Use some seafoam also.
I don't think your alternator will cause a power loss. You have have it checked for free if you take it out of the car and bring it to a local shop if you so desire.

Cool

Do a tuneup and go from there. Do it yourself though. It's a lot cheaper, realtively easy, and you'll know its done right. I would do the seafoam, replace plugs, wires, coil, air and fuel filter, and go from there. Maybe change 02 sensers, but they're a little more expensive, and chances are they are ok.

There was a thread about Seafoam just the other day by ACAenterprises or something like that. Just do a search, he's got a great write up on how to do it as well. Best way to learn about your car is to do as much work as possible yourself with help from friends/family.

You might wanna do the Seafoam first before you change plugs. Here is a link which will talk about seafoam and the procedures to using it:http://w3.one.net/~roz/cars/z28/seafoam.html. Good luck

Is it because of warmer temperatures? A cold 40 degree night will give you all kinds of power over a 70 degree day.

You should definitely do the Seafoam before installing new plugs and wires, otherwise they will get real dirty from all of the Carbon, and other grime the seafoam has cleaned out.

What he said.

For plugs I'd go with NGK plugs. TR 55's gapped at .050 are the plugs of choice on this board. Pretty cheap too. I have em, and like em. I noticed it ideled and revved smoother when I replaced the plugs and wire.
