Car feels faster with A/C on

For some reason my car feels like it pulls better top end with the A/C on. I know I'm getting false knock above 4000rpm (datamaster). I haven't had a chance to check but is it possible it's not sensing knock with the A/C on? The car also sounds different with the the air on. Am I crazy or is the A/C affecting timing?

While thats true, AC does turn the fans on sooner if your idling or sitting in traffic. If the cars really hot she won't run as well at WOT. Your car with the AC off on a cooler engine (ie just got off the highwy) should feel just as fast as if you were to do a run from idling a bit with the AC on (since it keeps the engine cool).
Err I think that makes sense

What I meant was since the A/C is on maybe the computer isn't pulling the timing out. Somehow the knock sensor is desensatized. I know the car definitely sounds different.

Turn the A/C on high and maybe the blowing air will give you a .001 reduction in ET.
