Car is dying or surging at stoplights

The idle is fairly smooth. I just put in a brand new racetronix fuel pump and new fuel filter in tonight. It is throwing a code while i sit at the stoplights and it almost dies or does die. I had this same problem about a month ago and I put a new maf on it and it started working fine until now. It surges periodically when driving like its wanting to shift or somtin while going like 60 and it throws a code. My car is a 1995 with obd1 comp and obd2 plug.
I have replaced plugs/wires/opti/fuel pump/fuel filter/radiator flush all very recently. What could be wrong with my car. I will try to go get it scanned by rigging up the autozone scanner to see if it will work. Any suggestions would help. -Michael

disconnect the MAF sensor and go drive it around for a while. See if the surging stops. If it does, your MAF needs replacin.

have u tried your altenator? this wouldnt explain the higher MPH codes but would explain a surging and dying at a stop. just take it off and take it to autozone. they can test the voltage for free

yeah, if not the alternator then try the battery, I know that seems kinda basic and mundane but just check it...I live in Florida and with the heat my battery starting going about two years after I got it, car would surge and all the stuff would turn off and on at random, it was pretty alarming going through lightless roads and having my head-lights cut out briefly...but yeah, I replaced the battery and all has been fine for the past year or so now...

Ok, I'll try taking in the alternator to see if that is the problem. I don't think its the battery cuz my lights never go, the car just dies. Its real weird. it only happens about once a day. i am prolly gonna get a scanner by the end of the week so I'll be able to check the code for sure. Thanks, Michael

Do you have an UD pulley? That could be the problem...robbing your electrical power...
