Car doesn't turn over.. Batteries fine.. lemon!!! help!

Problem after problem with this darn car...
this time, it won't turn over.. it won't crank..
battery is fine....
problem first happened yesterday...
It wouldn't crank, so I turned it off, (after looking at all the fuses...)
..turned it on, repeated 6-7 times... then it cranked and caught...
I used it all day... turned the car off and on at least 6-7 times..drove 60 miles..
today.. same problem... the check gauges light is on, the security light is off, the engine light is on...
any ideas???
(sounds like the pumps all start up, buzz, etc..)

does it sound like your starter is turning?

You didn't post specs about your car. For example, if it's a manual tranny, the clutch has a switch that must be depressed before the starter will crank. This switch is notorious for going bad. But considering how many times you depress the clutch, it's not really too unreliable. You can test it by jumping around it.

Also check the battery grounds at the frame and engine to be sure they are shiny tight and unbroken.

You can test the starter by jumping battery voltage directly to it and rule in or out any switches.

Last things left are solenoid and ignition switch. Very easy to rule out. A little hard to get to the ignition switch.

Also, if it's an auto trans, there is neutral safety switch. Check for power to the solenoid while cranking. Be safe.

It's an M6...
Battery connections look fine, starter doesn't sound like it's turning over..
The check gauge light does come on....
I'll have to try jumping around it if I can find the starter....

Sounds like a starter problem. If it winds up being the solenoid do a search under my name in LT1 tech about my starter woes. You CAN replace the solenoid instead of buying a whole new starter.
