ok..my 95 trans am at wot in 3rd gear at the same spot almost everytime it goes up to 4k pulls then stops goes down to 3700 ish feels kinda weird sluggish..then pulls..doesnt really seem to fast ethier up their..well the trans was just rebuilt.. car does have a couple arching wire..what can this be??? please help thanks.. oh yea new plugs and coil too..

Is it the converter locking up?

check the tranny fluid if its brown then the tranny is bad. if you have arcing wires then that is your problem fix them then see if it is still doing it.

the trans was just rebuilt 1000 miles ago.2500 stall in it..yes its supposed to be a lockup..how can i tell if its a lockup?..

You should feel it lock up like a 5th shift. You can tell if it is locked up when you give the car a little gas when cruising and the rpm's don't change. When the gas is depressed further, it will unlock. Even further will result in a downshift obviously. You could have a "loose" converter that isn't locking up causing the symptoms you describe. Is your TVI cable adjusted properly? Just throwing out some possibilities for you.

yes the trans has a lock up in it.. it wouldnt run at all with a non lockup..will thats what happened to my turbo350and yes the car does have any extra gear on the highway...but only in third at 4000rpm and acts ****ttty

Does it shift to 4th? Have you tryed a dead stop then WOT through all the gears? does it still do it? does your car ever reach those RPM's in the first two gears or do you drive it in way that it shifts before it gets that high? I wonder if your just not gettin enough fuel at that RPM maybe fuel filter... cheap and easy fix. But also the arcing does need to be fixed before you assume it's something else...

does not do it in anyother gear..only 3rd..and lt1's do not go into 4 gear at wot...i think it is ign. related.. tranny fluid is still red red..shifts fine in ever other gear at wot just at 3rd at 4100ish rpms drops to 3900-4000 rpm thrn pulls again.. not like a tranny slip
