What did you guys use tool wise to pry the intake manifold off. I have all bolts off and all hoses electrical plugs off. Only thing left is to break it loose and take it off. However this is becoming very difficult. What tools did you guys use to do this? Where did you lift from? Pry from?

If you have the throttle body off, then all you have to do is sitck a bar in the intake bores on the front of the plenum and pry up.

 

I got it now. Thats for the fast reply. I didn't think of sticking anything in there to pry it up.

Ball joint serperator saved me though.

For the next guy a few whacks with a deadblow hammer can help loosen it up too.

 

I just pried on the front tab with a long screwdriver. Worked all 4 times I did it this weekend.

 

Be careful with that aluminum fellas! All I did was stick my hand in the front and grab the EGR tube on the back and pull up.

haha, sucks to be you, i also used the bfs on the front tab.

 

Pry bar on the lip that protrudes out slightly by the pass. side head using the accy bracket for leverage.

 

Make sure you dont have 1 bolt still in the manifold. I tried prying mine pretty hard and it wouldnt budge. I then stopped and found that there was still one bolt holding it on to the block. I believe they were in the rear towards the firewall. After removing that bolt it came off really easily.

 

Yeah got to make sure you get all 12

I have always used a pry bar between the t-stat housing and the bottom of the TB. Worked every time
